By viriyalila on Tue, 18 Jun, 2013 - 19:49
A great conversation with Karunadevi, my Private Preceptor from San Francisco, and the first American Public Preceptor, about following a vision - one that started when she first encountered our community in the mid-’80s. Shortly after becoming a Mitra, Karunadevi knew that she wanted to help other women practice in the sangha, to be able to become Mitras and eventually join the Order itself…

Buddhist Voices: Dassini's Lost Talk on the History of Triratna Women in Scotland

By Candradasa on Tue, 5 Mar, 2013 - 14:41
Since most of the talks from women on the Order Convention weren’t recorded or had technical issues, we thought we’d take the opportunity to recreate as a conversation Dassini’s talk focussing on the history of women practising the Dharma in Scotland. A thoroughly absorbing look at the relationship between the genders in days gone by, and at a landscape and its effect on a Buddhist community in a very particular kind of country…

Buddhist Voices from India - A Discussion with Kalyanadharini and Vidyadharini

By Candradasa on Tue, 5 Mar, 2013 - 10:46
Another ‘Buddhist Voices’ episode from the end of the Triratna Buddhist Order Convention 2013 at Bodh Gaya in India. A pretty fantastic discussion with two ‘dharinis’ - young, inspired Indian Dharmacharinis who speak boldly about the challenges faced by women practising the Dharma in India.

A wonderful conversation too around issues of leadership and taking one’s place in the sangha in order to come alive and help others. Very exciting listening!
