Something Lovely

By Nandavajra on Sun, 19 Apr, 2020 - 18:18

SOMETHING LOVELY

And people stayed home

and read books and listened

and rested and exercised

and made art and played

and learned new ways of being

and were still

and listened more deeply

someone meditated

someone prayed

someone danced

someone met their own shadow

and people started thinking differently—-

And people healed…

And in the absence of people who lived in ignorant ways

dangerous, mindless, and heartless….

The earth began to heal—

And when the danger ended

and people found themselves…

They grieved for the dead

and they made new choices

and dreamed of new visions

and created new ways to live

and heal the earth fully

just as they had been healed.

Mindfulness and Just Sitting

By mokshini on Sat, 20 May, 2017 - 17:07

Come and give your mind a rest!  Join us in sitting in stillness and spaciousness this coming Wednesday at the Exeter Natural Health Centre.  The evening is dedicated to the ‘Just Sitting’ practice: We’ll be asking ourselves “What is happening, right now, in my experience?”  We’ll see why this enquiry needs the qualities of curiosity, receptivity and openness. All levels of experience welcome.

BAM at Triratna Exeter Group – a celebration of altruism in the Sangha

By Nandavajra on Thu, 19 Jun, 2014 - 13:01In an enlightening, inspiring and moving Sangha evening members of the group shared the place of altruism in their life and practice. Colin, a former member of Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth, and a very long-standing vegetarian (on altruistic grounds) talked of his voluntary work as an advocate for trade union members experiencing financial hardship and helping them to apply to benevolent funds.
