In addition to a mitra (see advert) we’re also looking for a Dharmacarini to live and work with us from August/September this year. You’d be working in our dedicated support team and helping us get ready to move to our new premises.

A full support package is available for the successful candidate.

Some of the skills and qualities you’ll need:

  • Good health 
  • Good basic admin skills and computer literacy
  • Good written English 
  • Ability to help with day-to-day book-keeping
  • Capacity to organise your work effectively, prioritise tasks, and take initiative

To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, we’re teaming up with Manchester Buddhist Centre in the UK to shine a spotlight on one of Triratna’s distinctive emphases – equal ordination for women. In fact, when Sangharakshita our founder created our Order in 1968 the very first person to be ordained was a woman.

The College of Public Preceptors is delighted to announce the appointment of Vajratara as a Public Preceptor.

Vajratara is 43 years old. She encountered the Dharma while still at school, was ordained in 2004, and became a private preceptor in 2016. She was in Sheffield for many years where she lived in a community, worked in the Evolution shop, and then taught at the Centre.
