Welcome - Meditating in the Mandala home retreat

By Sadayasihi on Fri, 12 Jun, 2020 - 10:40

What is a mandala? Symbolically, it’s a sacred circle that, if you enter and approach its centre, brings you towards Enlightenment or full Awakening. This week, during our latest home retreat, we will be meditating in the mandala, led by Tejananda, an Order member with over 25 years of teaching practice, as we deepen into our experience and learn to simply be.

Tejananda’s approach is rooted in Triratna’s System of Practice - integration, positive emotion, spiritual death, spiritual rebirth...

Dhyana: A Step-By-Step Approach

Dhyana: A Step-By-Step Approach

By bodhipaksa on Wed, 22 Apr, 2020 - 18:44

On Saturday I led a workshop for the Seattle and Vancouver sanghas (originally intended to be a weekend retreat) on cultivating dhyana. In it I present a three-fold approach to cultivating the dhyana factors (or a slightly modified form of that list) which seems quite reliably to help most regular meditators to get close to, or in to, first dhyana.

The feedback was very positive, and a lot of people who’d been meditating for a long time seemed to be making strides forward.

Nature Reflections from Taraloka

By akasajoti on Mon, 13 Apr, 2020 - 22:11

Steeped in her love of both the natural world and the Dharma, Maitridevi is offering us her ‘nature-thought-for-the-day’ reflections and short meditations every day this week, connecting us with some of the burgeoning spring-time life at Taraloka. She’s calling them ‘a naturalist-Dharma melange’!

You can find them over on Taraloka’s YouTube channel, along with a series of videos of Hridayagita teaching Tai Chi Shibashi, to support you to remain grounded, embodied, and sensitive to the beauty...

200 hours Certification Mindfulness Yoga Teacher Training course with Bodhiyoga International

Bodhiyoga ran by Sadhita and Sudaka organise several of their events through Suryavana Retreat Centre.

Yoga without Awareness cannot be Yoga.

Our teachers gain a clear understanding of how to present a full range of yoga postures and sequencing formats both fast and slow, (vinyasa flow, Yin, a more therapeutic approach) incorporating modern and ancient methods.

We emphasise intelligent, sensitive, anatomy-based alignment principles rather than a dogmatic one-alignment-fits-all-approach. Distinctively, we teach how to apply Mindfulness to...

Retreats with Bodhiyoga in Surayvana, Spain

Our retreats at Suryavana unfold in two phases. A new development has been to invite locally based practitioners both English and Spanish to join us over the weekend. After Sunday lunch the Spanish group leaves and the retreat moves into a second phase with the smaller group emphasising more silence and contemplation. We offer two groups with meditation and Yoga classes in English and Spanish. This format has proved very satisfactory intercultural event. Places will be...

Yashobodhi is our guide for this year’s Dharma immersion online and at Triratna Centres around the world as part of the 2018 International Practice Week.

We’ve come to the end of our week together looking at training the mind to greater happiness using new ways of engaging with our experience in the world. To gather the threads of the practice together Yashobodhi reflects on some key, pithy lojong reminders that capture the great efficacy and delight of this work - and which we...
