Kilimanjaro helps Dhanakosa

This morning Steve Hornby, a mitra at Manchester Buddhist Centre, UK, started his ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. 

He’s raising money for Dhanakosa Retreat Centre’s Development Fund. The money will enable the redecoration of the retreat centre this winter, a new office and meeting space and a new (second hand) Land Rover. It will also help them continue to provide retreats by donation rather than charging....

Buddharakshita was a member of the Manchester, UK, sangha. He died, unconscious, of pneumonia, just before 1pm in the Royal Oldham Hospital, with his wife Shirley and their daughter, Helen, by his bedside. He also leaves a son, Simon, and two grandchildren.
