Dharma library opens in Mexico

By Sadayasihi on Wed, 24 Jan, 2018 - 13:11

And the library isn’t just for the...

Bhante visits his exhibition; now you can too - online

By Munisha on Thu, 27 Aug, 2015 - 16:29

Yesterday, on his 90th birthday, Sangarakshita visited the Sangharakshita Library’s first exhibition, at Adhisthana. ‘Nine Decades: A Life in Objects’ tells the story of his life though a series of objects and audio interviews. He was shown around by Danasamudra, the librarian, and Saddhanandi, who conducted the interviews and is Adhisthana’s Chair.

A beautiful virtual version of the exhibition and audio is now available worldwide here on The Buddhist Centre Online.

By Satyalila on Mon, 13 Jul, 2015 - 18:00

After our weekend break, Satyalila is back with the latest installment from the Triratna Writers Conference. It’s unusual perhaps for a Buddhist community to place such an emphasis on the Arts as a route to spiritual inquiry - but it’s a real pleasure to listen to it happening ‘as live’!

This conversation with Satyadaka takes place in the brand new Sangharakshita library and we hear much about one of “Bhante’s” literary heroes, Dr. Johnson, as well as the...

The Sangharakshita Library: books on shelves!

By Munisha on Sun, 26 Oct, 2014 - 00:50Sangharakshita recently visited his new library at Adhisthana, as his 11,000 books appeared on the shelves at last.

It’s hard to remember that the Adhisthana project began as the “SLP”: the Sangharakshita Library Project, a home for Bhante’s books. This gradually became the Sangharakshita Land Project: a long search for land and buildings for a retreat centre and library.

Vidyadevi is one of Bhante’s editors. She writes:

“Thanks to the building and decorating efforts of Yashodeva,...
