Guided walk from one of our Hillwalking retreats

By Dhanakosa on Wed, 18 Oct, 2017 - 14:12

Nature is for many of us an important source of spiritual nourishment in an increasingly busy world. On this retreat we combined traditional Buddhist teachings with the simple practice of spending time walking in the rich and beautiful landscapes that surround Dhanakosa.

Dhanakosa New Team Member

Dhanakosa is looking for someone to join the centre team this winter or early next year. Ideally, this person will work principally as part of the house and grounds team mostly in general maintenance but also supporting the general work of the retreat centre across a range of required tasks, possibly including some office based tasks depending on skills and experience. As such, practical aptitude and physical fitness are our priorities. However we will, in the end, appoint...

By Munisha on Fri, 16 Jun, 2017 - 23:44

Clear Vision’s latest NewsByte video reports on some of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Triratna (as the FWBO) on 8th April 1967.

We visit the joint northern English centres’ celebration at Sheffield Buddhist Centre, the events at Adhisthana and Dhanakosa (UK) and the mainland European celebrations held at Essen (Germany). We hear about the culture and zeitgeist of Britain in the late 1960s, in which the FWBO and WBO were created. And we hear from Ratnaguna...

Kilimanjaro helps Dhanakosa

By Munisha on Thu, 10 Sep, 2015 - 15:24

This morning Steve Hornby, a mitra at Manchester Buddhist Centre, UK, started his ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

He’s raising money for Dhanakosa Retreat Centre’s Development Fund. The money will enable the redecoration of the retreat centre this winter, a new office and meeting space and a new (second hand) Land Rover. It will also help them continue to provide retreats by donation rather than charging....

Where are Scotland's Buddhists?

By Munisha on Thu, 18 Jun, 2015 - 11:56
