My name’s Mokshini. I was ordained in 1999, during a 2 week training-for-ordination retreat at Tiratanaloka. In September 2018 I moved to Berlin, and since February 2020 I’ve been living in a women’s community with five other delightful beings. I am training to be a community nurse for senior citizens; once I finish – towards the end of this year - I plan to divide my time working for a living and extending my involvement in Dharma activities.

A lotus with seventy petals – a symbol for one European young Buddhist sangha
From Friday the 2nd, until Sunday the 4th of June, the first Mainland Europe Young Buddhist Convention was held in Berlin. Seventy young Buddhists from ten European countries came together to explore the theme ‘one sangha’. How can young Buddhists from different countries become one sangha? The relationship between unique individuals in all their diversity vs. their commonalities and shared values, was the central topic of the weekend.
Simone Deiringer is a Mitra in Triratna’s Berlin sangha, Germany, training for ordination and exploring possibilities for a project enabling sangha to live and work together near Berlin.
She writes: “I am looking for somewhere close to Berlin where we can establish a collective project, living and working together. Right now I am investigating a small agriculture and gardening business for sale in the Uckermark (an hour and a half drive from the city): 10 hectares of land with buildings and a working horse!
