Preserving Urgyen Sangharakshita's Legacy

‘Sangharakshita as Mythophanic Psychopomp’ by Aloka.

Each year we send a report to all our donors – you can download our last seven years’ donor reports here.

Thank you for supporting Bhante and his care team during his life-time; how Uddiyana’s work continues

Very many thanks to all who have given generous support over the years to Triratna Buddhist Community (Uddiyana) which enabled us to give Urgyen Sangharakshita all that he needed in the last years of his life. Following Bhante’s death on 30th October 2018, Uddiyana has not wound down as there is still much work to do for the foreseeable future to preserve his legacy.

You can read our 2019 Newsletter online or as a downloadable PDF – https://www.sangharakshita.org/uddiyana-trust.html.

As the Newsletter shows, during 2019 we embarked on the considerable work required to put in order and look after the extensive physical legacy left to us: Urgyen House itself (previously known as Urgyen Annexe), correspondence, diaries, literary papers, audio, photo, video and many artefacts too.

As Trustees of Uddiyana we believe that preserving the physical legacy of Bhante’s long, rich and extraordinarily productive life is of the utmost importance. Only in this way can future generations have access to the legacy of teachings and inspiration, both through visits to Adhisthana and through a digital archive potentially available anywhere in the world.

We have asked all our current supporters, if in a position to do so, to consider continuing support to Uddiyana and we will very much welcome new supporters. Details of how to join can be found by scrolling down below.

I thank you very much on behalf of all our Trustees for your support to Uddiyana. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our administrator, Shantavira, or myself on the address below.

Yours in the Dharma,
Mahamati
