Order Dana 2023

Help us be a force for good in the world! Give in EurozoneGive in the UK

Why is Order dana important?

For our Order to have the strength and unity to be a force for good in the world, our lifeblood of kalyana mitrata must flow smoothly between us. We in the International Order Office team work hard to help that flow: by funding and supporting the two International Order Convenors (Saraha and Aryajaya) to foster harmony throughout the Order; by organising large Order gatherings, producing Shabda, circulating Order news, and maintaining the Order register, as well as a myriad of other less visible functions. We also work on new web spaces for the Order online – like this one!

Our Indrajala Campaign

The heart of our work as the International Order Office team is the development and growth of connection and harmony within the Order worldwide. We need your help to meet the changing demands of this work more effectively.

The campaign name, Indrajala, is inspired by Indra’s Jewelled net. According to the Buddha in the Gandhavyuha Sutra, “All the jewels shine in each, and each of them shine in all.” Imagine each gift of Order dana augments all other gifts and the net, our network of connections, is more lustrous with each contribution.

We recommend that Order Dana for everyone be set at £120 per year (or equivalent in your currency). Thank you to all of you who have been contributing annually and without whose support we couldn’t serve the Order.

With our Indrajala campaign, we want to highlight this amount as a recommendation and promote a tiered system to encourage all Order members who are free to give more than the suggested amount to do so. We are suggesting this after hearing from many Order members that they would like to support our work by giving more financially.

Our wish is also to reach out to those who could start to give, even if it is less than the recommended amount. Your contribution, however small, would be hugely welcome. We are inviting this after feedback from some Order members that this would help them to contribute, and they would like to do that.
You can see the tiered suggestions on our dana payment page.

This is all with the aim of increasing our annual income to meet the needs of our ongoing work and new initiatives. To find out more about how your Order dana is used, please see our 2022 Annual Report.

We know that everyone has their own individual relationship to Order Dana, so here are some different pathways to checking or changing how you currently contribute:

-If you don’t currently pay Order Dana, but would like to, you can set up a new payment here: https://thebuddhistcentre.com/stories/order/
-If you’re paying by Standing Order, you can change the amount you give to the “Triratna Trust” in your online bank account.
-If you’re paying by Direct Debit, and would like to change the amount you give, please reply directly to this email and we can make those amendments for you.
-If you are unsure and need to check your contribution details please contact Lokabandhu directly at triratnaorderdana@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone who gives Order Dana and thank you if you are able to respond to this campaign. We at the International Order Office couldn’t do what we do without you and your generosity.
