The Bodhisattva Of Compassion

From Sheffield Buddhist Centre on Wed, 16 Jul, 2025 - 00:00
In the final talk of this series, Bodhinaga will explore the higher teaching at the Heart of the White Lotus Sutra - The Bodhisattva Ideal. This sublime teaching is embodied in the form of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. Hear why the White Lotus Sutra has a whole chapter on Avalokiteshvara and why this strange looking bodhisattva, with 1,000 arms and 11 heads, has a very special place in the heart of Sheffield Buddhist Centre. In this series we are exploring the profound teachings of the White Lotus Sutra, presented through a combination of poetry, drama, parables and what can seem like cosmic science fiction, and the way these have the potential to free us to take our practice of the Dharma to a new level.
