Consciousness Unflods - Week Two

From London Buddhist Centre on Thu, 14 May, 2015 - 00:00
Meditation is a way of using the mind to work directly on the mind; but what is mind? By developing awareness of the nature of consciousness we can start to see clearly how mind creates the world and understand the forces in the mind that shape all sentient life and behaviour. In this practical meditation course you will learn how to use meditation as a means of transformation - both inner and outer. Led by Jnanavaca

Diedrik de Mulder writes….
On the 16th of April 2015, 25 young people arrived in Metta Mihara for a 3 days Young Buddhist retreat about “Spiritual Friendship”. Most participants came from the Netherlands and Belgium, but there was also a small German delegation and one Swiss. Most of us had experience with buddhist practice and/or meditation but some were newbies. As the retreat was overbooked, some slept in a tent in the garden.

Afterwards, we split into groups and we looked at the three questions that are featured at the end of the slide deck:

Ipswich Buddhist Centre celebrates Buddha Day

From Ipswich Buddhist Centre on Fri, 8 May, 2015 - 17:38

Ipswich Buddhist Centre celebrated Buddha Day with a day of activities organised in the town’s Christchurch Park.

The Reg Driver Visitors Centre hosted the event, to celebrate the day on which, over 2,500 years ago, the Buddha gained enlightenment.

There was a good turnout from the sangha, with a beautiful shine which included rupas from many of the sangha members.
