Buddhafield Festival is a joyful gathering of people, celebrating community and connection with the land. Song, dance, arts and crafts, yoga, meditation, and play blend together, without alcoholic drinks or recreational drugs, to create a loving and life-affirming space. There will be Buddhist teaching, workshops and ritual, under sun and stars. The festival is family-friendly and open to everyone, however you practice.

The theme for 2023 is ‘Liberation Through Imagination’.

An expansion of Adhisthana: Jasmine Cottage

We’re pleased to share that Adhisthana is in the process of acquiring a neighbouring property, Jasmine Cottage. The decision to purchase was an intense process that happened in consultation with a lot of people on a tight timeline.

Thanks to the generosity of four Order Members who already live locally, it is possible for Adhisthana to proceed. Vidyamala, Vijayamala, Sona and Vessantara will sell their own homes and move into Jasmine Cottage once the purchase completes – hopefully in the late summer....

Triratna Day at Adhisthana

Adhisthana was charged with excitement and inspiration as we welcomed sanghas from across the UK and parts of Europe to mark Triratna Day, the 56th anniversary of the founding of the Order in 1967. As well as those on the long weekend retreat, day and online guests joined us on the day itself, amplifying the collective experience of celebration and commemoration; the spirit of community and internationality was palpable. Death of Lama Zopa, co-founder of the FPMT

The death was announced yesterday of Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, who co-founded Kopan Monastery, Wisdom Publications, and the international organisation known as the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). He was 76.

A teacher of the Gelug school of Buddhism, Lama Zopa was born in the Mount Everest region of Thami in 1946 and left Tibet in 1959 for Bhutan after the Chinese occupation.

The FPMT today comprises 160 Dharma centres and projects across 37 countries.
