Abhayanavita has been involved with Triratna as a community since the age of 13. In her early days she learned to face her own difficult past with a fearlessness that is now reflected in her Buddhist name. She also learned to fight back against social injustice and gender discrimination via the Ashvaghosha project, educating people with plays and songs.
These days she continues that work in new ways, working at the Bahujan Hitay Project in her home town of Amravati...

On the 2018 Triratna Buddhist Order Convention at the traditional seat of the Buddha’s Enlightenment, Dharmachari Purna leads the assembled men’s wing of the Order in a traditional practice of recollecting the Buddha, with a special emphasis of his presence under the Bodhi tree itself.

We heard many great, inspiring talks, explored ideas around developing Triratna land at Bodhgaya and Sarnath, had dedicated sessions for the women’s and men’s wings of the Order, sat together under the stars and the Bodhi tree to celebrate our Order and the wide Buddhist world we are part of here…
