Slowing the Momentum of Delusion - talk

By BristolBC on Tue, 1 Mar, 2022 - 11:01

The six realms are created and perpetuated by our relation to our heart space. In this talk Bhadra describes the tendencies to push our life towards fantasies of growth to get the love we long for or to deny our experiences of unmet needs that often carry us into numbness, addiction and oblivion. He suggests the mirror of the wheel of life encourages us to look deeply into the felt experience of our hearts to find the life that wants...

The Mirror of Myriad Worlds

By BristolBC on Tue, 22 Feb, 2022 - 13:26

Worlds defined by pride, addiction, hatred, delusion, ignorance and attachment swirl within and around us. To step into the potential of our life we need to know where we stand. This is the first step on the path of liberation. This week we will be exploring the imagery of the six realms. Where do we find ourselves?

With Bhadra.

By Candradasa on Wed, 6 Jan, 2016 - 23:32

Chetul (Chatral) Sangye Dorje, the great Tibetan Master who just passed away at the age of 102, was one of Urgyen Sangharakshita’s eight main teachers. Here is Sangharakshita in 1990, paying tribute to him.

Remembering Chetul (Chatral) Sangye Dorje, 1913-2015

By Candradasa on Tue, 5 Jan, 2016 - 22:31

Here’s a forthright and passionate talk by Vajratara, taking as its starting point the great contemporary Tibetan teacher Chatral (Chetul) Sangye Dorje, who died at the turn of the year. Vajratara considers his relationship to practice in Triratna, via his giving of the Green Tara practice to Sangharakshita. The main focus, however, is the need to practice the Dharma for others as part of a meaningful community, and she argues her case with a balance of down-to-earth humour and...

Death Of Chatral Sangye Dorje

By Candradasa on Tue, 5 Jan, 2016 - 21:39

Chatral Sangye Dorje (also variously spelled Chetrul or Chetrul), the last surviving of Sangharakshita’s teachers, was born in 1913 and died on 31st December.

This is an excellent, at times very funny, introduction to him by Karunamati, who was fortunate enough to meet with him in Nepal as part of her medical work there with the Green Tara Trust

At the time this talk was given the great Tibetan Master - one of Sangharakshita’s eight main teachers - was 93 years old and...

Suvajra's Seasonal - No 2, Autumn: Facing Gods And Demons

By Candradasa on Wed, 31 Dec, 2014 - 21:42
In his (slightly belated!) autumn seasonal, we hear from Suvajra about his new, unexpected circumstances, caring for his teacher Urgyen Sangharakshita. It’s an intimate and touching picture of their friendship, and moves naturally into an extended reflection on Suvajra’s devotional practice of Chöd - “cutting” - meditation. Chöd is a ritualised practice from the Tantric tradition involving the whole body and mind. Its aim is to see deeply into the nature of self and of consciousness itself, and we get...
