Triratna Dharma Teaching and Training

By Sadayasihi on Mon, 2 Jul, 2018 - 10:27

Here are a set of conversations from a small, first gathering in 2017 of Dharma teachers in the Triratna Buddhist Community to discuss the project, looking at Dharma training throughout Triratna.

Talk on Spiritual Death

By vajratara on Wed, 20 Dec, 2017 - 17:30

Vajratara has been looking up some talks from Tiratanaloka to put online.  They come as part of a series. Though the others in the series were not necessarily recorded, the individual talks stand alone.  This one was given on a retreat at Tiratanaloka for women training for Ordination.  Vajratara gives an introduction to Spiritual death. Using poetry and drawing on her experience of the Sangha, she looks at what spiritual death is, what it isn’t and how to practice it.

By akasajoti on Mon, 30 Oct, 2017 - 14:21

In August 2017 at Adhisthana, Vessantara continued his exploration of our mandala of spiritual practice with a second, deeper look at Spiritual Receptivity. This retreat focused on Just Sitting, a practice in which we’re open to the whole of our experience which forms a vital balance to structured practice, and is also the centre of the meditative mandala, where everything culminates in an experience which Sangharakshita describes as ‘existential relaxation’.

In this series of sessions, Vessantara weaves input around guided...

A Cloud of Worship: the Manjughosa Stuti Sadhana retreat at Adhisthana

By akasajoti on Thu, 14 Sep, 2017 - 18:20

About 60 Order Members gathered at Adhisthana last week for a retreat on the Manjughosa Stuti Sadhana, spending each day moving through the system of practice and building up the Sadhana. Each afternoon in the Sangharakshita Library, before the image of Manjughosa that presides there, Subhuti gave a talk articulating six different aspects of the unfolding drama of the Sadhana, which correspond to the stages of the system of practice - Reverence, Solidarity, Wise Attention, The Illumined Image, Dwelling in Reality + Dedication.

Triratna’s International Council: what they did in the summer holidays

By Munisha on Tue, 25 Oct, 2016 - 15:43

As we reported at the time, Triratna’s International Council met at Adhisthana in the first week of August.

Representatives of the Order, College and Movement from all over the world gathered to practise together – through shrine room activities and business. Their three themes were

  • World needs
  • Triratna’s System of Practice and
  • Unity and working with conflict

Over on the International Council space on The Buddhist Centre Online you’ll find Dhammarati’s very beautiful visual summary of the meeting.
