Windhorse Publications turns 50

By Liz Evers on Thu, 25 Jan, 2024 - 12:30

This year is going to be significant for Windhorse Publications. After 50 years in operation, we have a lot to celebrate!

Back in the 1970s, what is now Windhorse Publications started out as a scattering of right livelihood businesses including typesetters, printers, distributors and publishers. At first, its newsletters and journals were published under the name Friends of the Western Buddhist Order. It then became Windhorse Press in the early 1970s when it began publishing full length books, starting with The Essence...

Walter, who is responsible for our book marketing, said…

‘The meeting was a resounding success, filled with insightful discussions on...

A Cathedral of Words

By Windhorse Publi... on Tue, 2 May, 2017 - 09:56

The Complete Works of Sangharakshita was launched successfully last October with four volumes published so far. These volumes include previously out of print material such as What is the Sangha?, and never-before published material like various talks by Sangharakshita in India in the 1980s. In addition to these important works, much effort has been made by the editorial team to trace back the source of original teachings and present them as endnotes. The last volume, the Concordance, will index teachings...

Fellowship of the Book - The Complete Works of Sangharakshita

By Windhorse Publi... on Tue, 15 Nov, 2016 - 13:20

And in the light to mind them

A milestone in our journey has recently been...
