Ordination at Padmaloka

By Munisha on Wed, 29 Mar, 2017 - 09:12

We are delighted to announce that on Tuesday March 28th at 2.30pm Jyotipala was publicly ordained at Padmaloka Retreat Centre, UK.

Jyotipala means ‘He who protects the light’.

His public ordination was performed by Padmavajra.

With metta,
Manjusiha

This ordination marks Jyotipala’s re-entry into the Order. Jyotipala was the first person to be ordained at Padmaloka in 1976 - with Sangharakshita as private preceptor. Sometime in the mid to late nineties, Jyotipala resigned from the Order. Unusually, he was not privately ordained...

‘Akshobya means immovable, what does not shake, what does not tremble.

A 7-day retreat exploring the unshakeable archetypal Buddha Akshobya, through ritual, talks, discussion, meditation and friendship.

Surlingham Village Festival at Padmaloka

By Sanghanistha on Thu, 15 Sep, 2016 - 10:21

This year Padmaloka once again hosted the Surlingham village festival, as we do every other year.

The day was a resounding success, despite the threat of rain which in the end never fully materialised (much gratitude to the nagas for their part in this).  There was live music throughout ranging from a one man 80’s cover act, to acoustic folk and the village choir. There were lots of activities, games and competition for all ages. Padmaloka managed to win 6 of the...

Honouring the King's Sacred Duty - Sanghanistha

By Prajnaketu on Sat, 30 Jul, 2016 - 11:28

In this talk Sanghanistha shares his reflections on one of Sangharakshita’s aphorisms and how this acts as a blueprint for a life that embodies the archetype of the king. A life lived knowing change and directing change by taking responsibility for ourselves as agents of karma, a life lived helping others to also do this and come together to transform the world around us so that it upholds and encourages the highest values.

This was the final talk given at the ‘Awakening...

The King: Without and Within - Buddhasiha

By Prajnaketu on Sat, 30 Jul, 2016 - 11:25

This talk introduces the archetype of the King, and the qualities it brings to the life of a man. We’re led through a short active imagination, bringing the King to mind, and we then hear how the Buddha is the ultimate of all Kings. This talk was given at the ‘Awakening the King’ Young Men’s Retreat, April 2016.
