This being, led meditation 5

By Yashobodhi on Thu, 10 Apr, 2014 - 09:57
Yesterday afternoon Nayaka led a meditation on the spiral path. Most important fact is that it unfolds naturally. ie without wilfulness. In this recording Nayaka gently shows where there could be an opening to the spiral path in our experience.

This Being, led meditation 4

By Yashobodhi on Wed, 9 Apr, 2014 - 09:57
Yesterday afternoon, Nayaka led a beautiful reflection on the five kandhas (or skandhas in Sanskrit). I thought his exploration was very clear, interesting and insightful.. A particular interesting part for me was that he had us playing with the skandha of cogntion, saññā. Thoroughly recommended.

Tonglen retreat, day 4: Tonglen for Others

By Yashobodhi on Tue, 25 Mar, 2014 - 14:26
On day four of the Spring Tonglen Retreat at Taraloka Saddhanandi talks about tonglen for others. She describes how the breath helps us to breathe in and turn towards what we usually ignore, resist or block to defend ourselves from the suffering we see in others. When we’re breathing out we’re offering something we usually protect or isolate for our own use. So on the out-breath we’re sharing our resources in response to the suffering we encounter in our lives.

By Yashobodhi on Mon, 24 Mar, 2014 - 14:42

At the start of her talk Saddhanandi refers to one of the seven point mind training slogans: ‘begin the sequence of sending and taking with yourself’. We start by turning towards what’s going on in our experience right now.
