As we close the week-long Order retreat and turn towards our Convention marking the 50th anniversary of Triratna and the Order itself, we are in Bodhgaya, India, to bring you live coverage of a public ordination under the Bodhi tree.

Recently I suggested there were many people who would be delighted to ‘meet’ the woman who makes these items, given to members of the Order at their ordinations. I persuaded her to speak to camera - in English - even though she was very shy about doing so.
October this year saw the first North Indian National Youth Convention (of NNBY). 375 young people came to a retreat in Syna, UP. Many of them were from areas without many Buddhists and were experiencing Triratna for the first time. We celebrated Buddha Jayanti at Triratna Buddhist Community, Mahendranagar, Nagpur, India. Total 36 Men and Women became Dhammamitra on this celebration. The women were 25 and men 11 happily declared 3 declaration in presence of many Order Members, Mitras and friends at Center.
