#EthicalChristmas: Metta Eggs – Collect Moments Not Things...

By libbydavy on Fri, 12 Dec, 2014 - 19:42Imagine being given a box of hand-crafted eggs
Filled with heartfelt messages
From people who really care about you

Christmas stirs up mixed feelings for most people. Life is busy enough without adding pressure to spend time and money we might not have, to connect with all our nearest, dearest – and perhaps those we feel we “should” be close to, even if they leave us gasping for air.

Who do we really care about and want to...

#EthicalChristmas: Wildmind - Supporting Ethical Businesses

By bodhipaksa on Sun, 7 Dec, 2014 - 13:53

As a small independent enterprise, Wildmind is keen to support artisans and local producers where possible. Many of the items that we sell are Fair Trade products, where local artisans in Nepal and India work in good conditions and are fairly recompensed for their labors. Other items we sell are made locally in and around New Hampshire, where we’re based.

Here are a few of the items we sell…

#EthicalChristmas: Priyananda On The People Behind Windhorse Books

By Centre Team on Sun, 23 Nov, 2014 - 15:31Windhorse Publications originated as the main publisher of Sangharakshita, the founder of the Triratna Order. Do you still publish books by Sangharakshita or is your focus now on publishing books by other authors?

We do still publish books by Sangharakshita, but because he is in his old age now, he is writing far less. The most recent of his books that we have put out are previously unpublished material from his early life, ...

#EthicalChristmas: The Ethics Of Publishing In A Digital Age

#EthicalChristmas: The Ethics Of Publishing In A Digital Age

By Centre Team on Sat, 22 Nov, 2014 - 13:44The publishing industry is in the process of going through a huge, seismic change. Whereas ten years ago we were buying all of our books from our local bookshop, today we’re more likely to purchase them online, in eBook as well as print format. Publishers are having to adapt to these changing conditions in order to survive. How We Work

By Windhorse Evolution on Fri, 31 Oct, 2014 - 12:30The 100 Days of Ethical Giving Campaign helps to support Evolution - an ethical business based within the Triratna Sangha - as it faces difficult trading conditions on the High Street.

Throughout the campaign we want to share information about our ethical trading criteria and our products but, being a Buddhist business, our ethical values go deeper than our trading relationships. After all, many businesses say they are ethical and have all the accreditations to...

Take One Simple Thing

By Windhorse Evolution on Tue, 28 Oct, 2014 - 11:29As part of our 100 Days of Ethical giving Campaign, we are also looking at the environmental impact of what we buy.

Just looking at one of our products shows you how you can make a difference once you start considering its’ journey. A simple, £18 recycled glass vase has a whole environmental story to tell!

Just choosing recycled glass over newly made glass means that;

- You are supporting constant recycling. Glass can be recycled over...

Here are just a few of our new Autumn lines. If recycling and reusing is your thing, you will love the recycled glass vases – we filled ours with apples and pine cones, but they’re perfect for all sorts of displays and at only £18.00 for...
