Bhante’s 90th birthday fundraising last year raised well over £100,000 for the publication of his Complete Works,a job which is well under wayandto which Bhante himself added more money specifically for translations. (You can too!) Suvannavira writes from Moscow about the work of the newly formed Triratna Translations Board.
“In a world where so many seem to speak English, why bother translating books by Bhante and his disciples into other languages? Imagine coming to...
Satyalila reporting from an inspiring retreat at Adhisthana in the UK for a group of volunteers who came together to help Vidyadevi and Kalyanaprabha with editorial work on the first two of the twenty-seven volumes that will make up the entire Complete Works of Sangharakshita. And to to collectively dedicate their efforts - spiritual and practical.
We hear about some of what’s involved - from the intricacies of critical diacritics in Pali and Sanskrit terms, to the considerable detective...

At the end of last weekend’s ‘Conscious Surrender to the Beautiful’ weekend to celebrate Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday, Amalavajra was able to present Bhante with the money to fund his Complete Works!
At the start of this recording Parami refers to the assembled Order taking part in a Mahayana Sutra. Never was a comment more prescient as the thunder rolls in, the skies pour forth torrents of rain and the shrine marquee is played on like a great drum! Afterwards, rainbows - a fitting way to greet Sangharakshita who joins the throng to celebrate the success of an appeal to fund his Complete Works and to hear Kalyanaprabha...
Congratulations! Today the worldwide collection for Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday passed the £80,000 mark, with 402 online donations from individuals and groups within Triratna. Help us reach our target: £100,000.
To give you more detail: the money will fund a 5-7-year project to publish Bhante’s Complete Works, including much material out of print or never published before, and in paper and digital, searchable, formats.
The editors, Kalyanaprabha and Vidyadevi, are already working on the early stages of the project, dividing his work into “baskets”....
There are just under three weeks until Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday on Tuesday 26th August, on which we’d like to give him the money for the one thing he really wants – the publication of his Complete Works, online and on paper, for everyone, for ever. We just need another £34,000; not much between the thousands of people in Triratna worldwide! Please give whatever you can and invite your study groups, GFR groups and chapters to join in.
A lovely video from the Sangharakshita Library at Adhisthana in Herefordshire, England, where Kalyanaprabha and Vidyadevi - the editors of Sangharakshita’s Complete Works - speak about the project and their own heart connection to this great gathering of Buddhist Dharma to mark Urgyen Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday.
