Throughout the month members of the Sangha will be making pledges of their own choice to do things to reduce their carbon emissions. These pledges will be put on the wall of the Centre on a beautiful poster designed by Dhiracharita.

Join the EcoSattva training course, from Sept 13th:

“In the face of catastrophic climate change, we as a Buddhist/mindfulness community have the opportunity to creatively define for ourselves appropriate response: response that is wise, compassionate, transformative, resolute and equanimous. By Munisha on Tue, 7 Jul, 2015 - 11:57

The UK’s national and local elections in May this year produced two new Buddhist politicians, both Triratna mitras: a Conservative member of parliament at Westminster and Oscar Gillespie, a local councillor for the Green Party in Cambridge. (We hope to bring you a piece from the new MP later this year.)

Oscar writes: “I have been an environmentalist and a vegetarian longer than I have been a Buddhist. I came to the Cambridge Buddhist Centre four years ago, and gained the conviction...

Points 9-16 of the 16-point statement on climate change issued by the US Dharma Teachers’ Climate Collaborative in 2013.

“9. The interconnectedness of inner and outer, the individual and the collective (or institutional): Climate disruption provides an unprecedented opportunity to understand the roots of the problem—which relate to the ways our minds work and how those patterns become embedded in collective and collective/institutional practices and policies. By Munisha on Tue, 26 May, 2015 - 16:25

In 2013, a group of American Buddhists known as the US Dharma Teachers’ Climate Collaborative issued a 16-point statement on climate change and ways in which Buddhists can engage with it. Here are points 1-8.
