Transforming World at the Wellington Buddhist Centre

By saradarshini on Wed, 18 Jul, 2018 - 01:34

By Sadayasihi on Fri, 18 May, 2018 - 11:52

This year we have an invitation to explore two particular angles of ‘transforming self, transforming world’:

BAM 2018: Focusing on Digital Technology and a Positive Collective Narrative

By Sadayasihi on Wed, 9 May, 2018 - 12:36

Mokshini writes on the BAM space: “Buddhist Action Month (BAM) is an opportunity to reflect on our values, and to take the time to think about and adjust a habit that we know has an adverse affect on ourselves and on the planet. Typical BAM activities over the last few years have included litter picks, beach cleans, a month of going vegan, or mindful time spent in nature - there are more ideas in the BAM Handbook

By Sanghamani on Wed, 4 Apr, 2018 - 15:47

Hi there…
Sanghamani here!

For this year’s Buddhist Action Month, I’m looking for volunteers to join me for our telephone appeal, based in the Karuna office in North London.

Karuna Appeals give us an opportunity to connect with others and ourselves, all while giving something back to the world. Using metta, sensitivity and awareness, we will work together to transform fear and resistance, exploring how we can remain open when faced with difference.

Our campaigns are perfect conditions to practice engaged Buddhism, a chance to...

Only Connect

By jvalamalini on Sun, 9 Jul, 2017 - 22:59

One of our talks for BAM in Bristol. From communist to Buddhist…. Vimalavajri talks of her personal involvement in the spheres of politics, feminism and Buddhism.  Using Indra’s net as a classic Buddhist image of interconnectedness, the talk explores what the dharma might have to say about social or political action, and asks what helps when we feel overwhelmed or stuck in ill-will.  If we really see Indra’s net, we will connect more deeply with life at all levels and...

Looking back on Buddhist Action Month 2017

By Charlotte Lawes on Tue, 4 Jul, 2017 - 13:20

This June saw another successful Buddhist Action Month (BAM) unfold. We take a look at what it was all about and how the Triratna Buddhist Community around the world took part.

Mokshini writes

“At the heart of Triratna is the Bodhisattva Ideal – the aspiration and heartfelt wish to benefit others and the commitment to act in ways that help all beings to thrive. Buddhist Action Month is an opportunity to reach out and engage with friends or local communities in ways that...
