Sponsor a 24-hour Pujathon

By Centre Team on Mon, 30 Sep, 2024 - 09:30

Suvarnadhi is undertaking a 24-hour pujathon on October 12 & 13 to help raise funds towards the completion of the new Auckland Buddhist Centre. The centre was purchased a year ago and needs a bit of work - we’ve been wearing puffer jackets and hats inside all winter. We already have 85% of the funds we need to get renovations underway in November, but need wider help with the last 15%. You can increase Suvarnadhi’s motivation to stay awake...

The Oceania 3 Chairs Meeting

By Sadayasihi on Thu, 24 Jan, 2019 - 15:40

On Friday 30th November 2018, the Chairs of three of the four main Triratna Buddhist Centres in the South Pacific met in Sydney. European Chairs have long been very well networked via the European Chairs’ Assembly, but such gatherings are still under development in other parts of the world. In Australia/New Zealand, there has never been a Movement Strand (Order members running Triratna Centres) gathering and it is believed that this was the first ever meeting of Chairs across the whole of Oceania.

Watch the complete edited livestream.

For a start, it’s estimated that those watching at public screenings across India numbered at least 61,000 – not including all those who watched at home or in social projects...

Continuing our Triratna News mini-series marking the COP21 climate change talks in Paris, more news of climate change actions from around the Triratna world.

Dublin Buddhist Centre, in Ireland, released their Statement on Human-Caused Global Warming today. Last week, we hear, Triratna individuals were among those staging a ritual inside the British Museum, as part of the Art, not Oil coalition’s opposition to BP’s (British Petroleum) sponsorship of several British arts institutions.
