What do Buddhists make of AI? And what does it all mean for our ideas of human consciousness? Check out our round table conversation about all things ChatGPT and beyond!

We’re coursing this week in the heady, fascinating realm of generative and assistive AI, already seemingly omnipresent in our lives via undeniably productive next gen software tools like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion. How do our not-computer-generated guests from different walks of Buddhist life engage with this rapidly evolving area of...

Dharmabytes: Holding Diversity Within Ourselves

From Free Buddhist Audio on Thu, 20 Jul, 2023 - 11:00

Saravantu talks about one of Triratna’s emphases - a unified Order - by looking inwards. If we turn away from elements of our own character, we will find ourselves turning away from others. A unified Order needs us to be able to turn towards all aspects of ourselves. This is a practical talk with helpful exercises to bring it down to earth.

Excerpted from the talk An Inclusive Order -Turning Away, Turning Towards, Meeting the Shadows In...

Dear friends in the Order

It is with great delight that we can announce the appointment of Dharmachari Vajrapriya as an International Order Convenor.

The process of selection was outlined in the June Shabda and the Order Connections online space. Once we had proposed Vajrapriya we gave a six week consultation period. (You can re-read the post on Order connection here).

We are happy to say that the consultation period is now over. Thank you to the many Order members who engaged...

Book-keeper at the London Buddhist Centre

From Jobs, Volunteering & Communities on Wed, 19 Jul, 2023 - 11:52

The LBC are looking for a new person to join the team of people who run the centre’s activities

The team-based right livelihood culture of the centre provides excellent conditions in which to practise the Dharma, deepen your relationship with the Order (though you don’t need to have asked for Ordination yourself) and have an intensive experience of contributing to the LBC community. It’s a value-driven, collaborative context that can have a transforming effect on a person’s life and...

News from the Field!

From Windhorse Publications on Wed, 19 Jul, 2023 - 10:00

Windhorse Publications had an amazing time participating at Buddhafield! 🙏✨

Check out this heartwarming picture of our incredible volunteering team (from left to right Walter, Hilary, Tara, our trustee Dhivan and Fi), who worked tirelessly to spread the wisdom of Buddhism through our books.

Buddhafield was a transformative experience, offering us the chance to not only connect with ourselves but also forge deep connections with fellow seekers on the spiritual path. The festival provided a nurturing environment for self-discovery, exploration, and growth.
