Health of Amoghavamsa

Dear Order members,

During a recent visit to Newcastle as President of the Newcastle Buddhist Centre, Amoghavamsa had a heart attack. He has had his stents replaced and is currently recovering in hospital in Newcastle until Monday or Tuesday. Akuppa has been helping Amoghavamsa in Newcastle. 

Amoghavamsa tells me he is doing ok. This morning he replied to my text message and wrote “I am in no pain. Lots of high-tech monitoring. Should be back in Sheffield soon.”

Please keep Amoghvamsa in mind at the moment. I...

Upcoming Ordination in Wellington, New Zealand

Dear Order members,

I am delighted to announce that Chris Bicknell from Wellington will soon be ordained in New Zealand.

His private ordination will take place during a two week ordination retreat on an island in the Pacific. It will be conducted by Purna between 28-30 January 2022.

His public ordination will be at the Wellington Buddhist Centre on Sunday 6 February 2022 starting at 11am New Zealand summer time. ...

Dear Order members,

I am very sad to announce that Sarajit has submitted to me his resignation from the Order. He chose not to give his reasons for doing so. He indicated that his mind is fully made up so I have accepted that he has resigned.

He was ordained by me both privately and publicly at Hsuan Tsang Retreat Centre, Bor Dharan,  India, the Public Ordination being on 13th January 2003.

I am very happy to announce the public ordination of ex Isidro Martínez and ex Oscar Gutiérrez of the Mexico City Sangha at Chintamani on Saturday 15th January, 2022.

Isidro becomes Āryavādin, a Sanskrit name meaning he who speaks like the noble ones,

Public Preceptor: Virasiddhi
