Today after meditating at the Mahabodhi temple, under the Bodhi tree, we heard a talk from Maitriveer-Nagarajuna on ‘The Lion’s Roar of Doctor Ambedkar’. We also met Aryajaya, the new International Order Convener and talked about living the Dharma in difficult conditions.
Every time the Triratna Buddhist Order gathers for an international Convention, we have a delightful ritual where Order Members who have been ordained in the last couple of years introduce themselves. Here’s a selection of the many who said hello at the Order Convention in Bodhgaya India, 4th Feb 2018.
A quick taste via Instagram pictures and video of what it’s like to arrive at a great Dharma gathering in India, where over 600 members of the the Triratna Buddhist Order are gathered for a week of fellowship and practice, for the benefit of all beings.

Join us for a walk around the Convention site meeting wonderful beings from all around the world who are converging here to celebrate community and practice the Dharma together - for the benefit of all beings!

As we close the week-long Order retreat and turn towards our Convention marking the 50th anniversary of Triratna and the Order itself, we are in Bodhgaya, India, to bring you live coverage of a public ordination under the Bodhi tree.
Over the next week or so we’ll be offering online coverage from the 50th Anniversary Order Convention from Bodhgaya, India.
Most of the Convention will be public, and (the internet gods permitting!) we’ll share content – talks, mantras, podcasts, pictures, videos, livestreams – on The Buddhist Centre Online, and around our social media channels.
We’ll be getting things underway with a live stream of Public Ordinations that will take place on Saturday under the Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi temple, commemorating the spot where Buddha is said...
2017 saw the celebrations of 50 years of the Triratna Buddhist Community and 2018 sees the 50th anniversary of the Triratna Buddhist Order. In this context in the Padmaloka Retreat Centre - which runs ordination training retreats for men - members of the Ordination Team gave talks on each of the 4 acceptance vows, recited during one’s public ordination ceremony. These vows essentialise what it means to be an order member practising within the Triratna Buddhist Order. The...
I want to begin to experiment with telling the stories of some of the events happening at Adhisthana – I want Adhisthana to be able to reach out all over the Triratna world across oceans and borders, and I want it to be a source of inspiration and positivity in the world and in this community. So over this week I’ll be on a retreat on the theme of Metta and Bodhicitta, and will try to tell you the story...
