The ‘Big One’ is well known for its Saturday night puja! This time we ventured out into the dark for a bonfire as part of a special ritual led by Kusaladevi. Here are some amazing photos taken by Akasajoti and Sanghadhara capturing the scenes around the fire.

Friends,
As many of you know, there was a 5-alarm fire in Portsmouth NH on Monday, which destroyed several buildings adjacent to the Portsmouth Buddhist Center.  Our center has extensive water and smoke damage, and the building we are in will be closed for some time for repairs. We were covered by insurance and will likely be able to open again at that location some time in the future. In the meantime, starting next week, we will begin...

Fire Safety, UK (2006)

Here is some information about the Fire Safety Order 2005, which came into force on 1st October 2006. As from that date, old fire safety certificates cease to be effective and new regulations for running a fire safety assessment come into operation.

There is a website (www.fire.gov.uk/Workplace+safety/) on which you will find information about the new regulations.
