Giving to the Portsmouth Buddhist Center
In 2014 we saw considerable growth and change, and we’re now in a position to expand significantly in 2015. We successfully moved to our new home at 84 Pleasant Street, just a block from Market Square, in the fall of 2013. Since then we’ve invested in a number of improvements to make our space more comfortable, including creation of a kitchen area, a gift shop, shelving for cushions, and installation of a portable air conditioner.

In 2014, the PBC offered more events and introduced the Dharma to more people in town than ever before. Our regular and introductory classes have expanded and November saw the launch of a new weekly 8-Step Recovery meeting for the Seacoast Recovery Community, which is off to a great start.

The program for 2015 has just been released and we’re excited to share it with you. Some of the highlights include:

  • Sutra Sundays
  • Recovery Fridays
  • Beginners’ courses
  • Weekday meditation sessions
  • Weekend workshops
  • Festival days
The Portsmouth Buddhist Center operates by donation, or through dana (generosity). Because the Dharma is so precious we have chosen not to charge for any of our programs. While donations like this support a significant portion of our work we are challenged to make ends meet and need more contributions as we continue to develop our center generally.

Please consider making a monthly contribution or an annual donation to help us continue to build a strong and enduring Seacoast Buddhist community. Supporting our meeting space helps make this happen in so many ways.

Please make checks payable to Portsmouth Buddhist Center; please mail to PO Box 406, Portsmouth, NH 03802 or drop off in the dana bowl at the center. Please use Paypal for regular monthly or one off donations payable to our email address: portsmouth@thebuddhistcenter.com.

Best wishes for a warm Holiday Season and a Bright New Year.
