Un Recordatorio del Foro con los miembros del Colegio de Preceptores

From Order Connection on Tue, 10 Aug, 2021 - 10:46

From Order Connection on Tue, 10 Aug, 2021 - 10:36

The International Council has six Area Councils that meet regularly to share information and discuss ideas, so that the three strands - Movement, Order & College - are joined up.

Raising funds to buy our own Buddhist Centre

From Mid Essex Buddhist Centre on Tue, 10 Aug, 2021 - 09:56

After 5 years in rented buildings that we have now outgrown, we are planning a secure home for our community in our own property. We are almost in a position to go ahead with buying a Centre. We are still short of funds to secure a property.

We have a Just Giving Page to collect the remaining funds and we would be grateful if you could share this page as wide as you can. Thank you

Opportunity in Southampton

From Jobs, Volunteering & Communities on Mon, 9 Aug, 2021 - 16:34

The Southampton Buddhist Centre is in a period great growth since opening our distinctive new premises nearly four years ago. Since then there have been approaching twenty new mitra ceremonies, lockdown growth, numerous ordination requests, and this year two ordinations.

Southampton itself is an interesting city with a fascinating history, and is this year applying for recognition as UK City of Culture 2025. It is also surrounded by beautiful Hampshire countryside including the New Forest, with attractive coastline and beaches within reach....

Dharmabyte: Shared Values

From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 9 Aug, 2021 - 06:00

Parami offers an enthusiastic exploration of the earthy and ethereal details of everyday spiritual practice, especially within the framework of a sense of the ‘collective’. Some great and pretty funny stories from early, would-be-revolutionary experiments with co-operative working (“The opiate of the masses has arrived!”), and some wise words from her subsequent experience of trying to square the circle of dealing with one’s own individuality within a working sangha.

From the talk entitled Being an Individual Within...

Death of Ratnashur

From Order Connection on Sat, 7 Aug, 2021 - 12:02

Dear brothers and sisters,

I am very sad to inform you that Dhammachari Ratnashur passed away on 6th August in the morning at his village. He was 77 years old. He was undergoing treatment for the last few months and Dhammacharini Mokshasara was looking after him.

Ratnashur was ordained on 30th March 2008 at Bhaja. Dhammachari Adityabodhi was his private preceptor and public ordination was given by Dhammacari Suvajra.

He lived in Nashik for many years, and helped the many Mitras there. He was very kind...

From Free Buddhist Audio on Sat, 7 Aug, 2021 - 06:00

The Buddha was a problem solver looking at suffering and the release from suffering. She considers the Karaniya Metta Sutta, looks at the work of Buddhaghosa, and investigates the ideas of metta as a strongly positive emotion, a rational emotion and as wisdom. The session finishes with some questions...
