The Southampton Buddhist Centre is in a period great growth since opening our distinctive new premises nearly four years ago. Since then there have been approaching twenty new mitra ceremonies, lockdown growth, numerous ordination requests, and this year two ordinations.

Southampton itself is an interesting city with a fascinating history, and is this year applying for recognition as UK City of Culture 2025. It is also surrounded by beautiful Hampshire countryside including the New Forest, with attractive coastline and beaches within reach. We currently have a room available in the flat/community above the centre that would suit a man pursuing the Dharma life.

A Dharmachari or man requesting ordination would find plenty of scope to contribute to our growing and vibrant sangha, whilst any man would find the conditions here supportive.
