A Home Retreat: 24 – 28 November, 2023

Reserve your space on Emptiness and the Nature of Mind

'Teachers of Enlightenment' and going for refuge as part of a global sangha - a conversation with Vajratara

From Windhorse Publications on Wed, 24 May, 2023 - 11:37

Listen to this episode +much more!

The Dharma is a universal teaching and an array of practices for liberation. In history, it is embodied by teachers who respond to the particular forms of suffering and bondage that they are born into, human and social.

In its spread between India and what could broadly be called the West, the Triratna Buddhist movement and order is rather unique in contemporary convert Buddhism.

In this episode, Dhammamegha is in conversation with Vajratara about...

Led by a team of Order members who live and work at Adhisthana, participants delved into the four lineages - inspiration, teachings, practices, and responsibility. There was also training in leading study groups and creating a culture of feedback; hopefully giving participants the confidence and...

FBA Podcast: Order Approaches to Insight

From Free Buddhist Audio on Sat, 27 May, 2023 - 06:00

Vijayamala addresses the 2022 UK & IE Triratna Buddhist Order convention, exploring what breaking through and seeing the nature of reality means for us as an Order. The Buddha went forth to seek an end to suffering, to go beyond what binds us to the samsaric world. Part of the series Going Forth,...

Death of Vajrasara

From Order Connection on Fri, 26 May, 2023 - 18:18

Dear fellow Order members,

We are writing to let you know the sad news that our dear Vajrasara died yesterday, Thursday 25th May, around 6pm, at home as she had wanted. Nagamudra, Moksanandi, and Vajrasara’s sisters Kamalini and Clare were in the house with her. After a lot of suffering, she was ready to go. She died peacefully and in awareness, saying she was ‘letting go’, and ‘bye bye’.

This morning the chapter, Clare, and Sangha...

Touching the Mystery: UK & Ireland Combined AOWE 17 – 20 August 2023, Adhisthana

From Order Connection on Fri, 26 May, 2023 - 16:37

‘There are moments when criticism of a particular kind – the only kind I care for – utterly absorbs me. I feel I am touching a mystery … a darkness that is secretly alive and thrilling to the sense. This, I like to believe, is the reflection in myself of the darkness which broods over the poet’s creative mind.’

Maitrilila died on April 12th in Germany and we are very pleased to organise an online memorial service for anyone who would like to come from both the Buddhist and Breathworks communities. There have already been events in Germany to remember this wonderful woman but we want to offer an English-speaking space for her many friends.

Maitrilila was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist community in 2018 and was a founder of Breathworks in Germany along with her partner, Abhayada.
