The West London Buddhist Centre is looking for either a Mitra Convenor (full-time) or 2 Mitra Convenors (part-time) to nourish and grow its sangha and support its vibrant mitra community. Ratnadeva, our beloved Mitra Convenor of the past 5 years, will be leaving London in April 2024. 

The job involves:

  • regular teaching activities at the centre and on retreats
  • engaging with newcomers, developing connections and friendships and supporting them in their involvement with centre activities

Dear Friends, 

This morning we received the sad news that Achalaraja in Johannesburg has died. The cause of his death is not immediately clear, but it seems it might have been caused by a sports injury. He was 56 years old.

Achalaraja came into the movement in South Africa through his close friend Vajradhara. He was ordained at Padmaloka on 17th September 2009 and I gave him his name, mainly because of his devotion to the Vidyaraja...

I am delighted to announce that Don Lawson from Wellington will soon be ordained in New Zealand.

His private ordination will be conducted by Purna around the 7th December 2023.

His public ordination will be at the Wellington Buddhist Centre on Sunday 10th December starting at 2pm New Zealand daylight time (UTC/GMT+13 hours).

Recently Dh Vimaldhamma has done solitary retreat. It was very pleasant to have him as very old friend from Ulhasnagar. Today is also Dhammic Birthday of him as all Order member of Dhamma Batch of 1994.

Similarly a mitra from Panvel center Sudarshan Gajbhiye did solitary in same period.
