Into Spring: Towards New Life in the Mind

From Portsmouth Buddhist Center on Fri, 9 Mar, 2018 - 15:08

Our new series: Sundays in March and April, 9.30am-12pm
Passing from one season to the next, we are reminded of the constancy of change. The freshening and new growth of springtime connects us with the positive, potentially joyous, aspects of this reality. From now through April, as we witness the reawakening of the natural world around us, we will explore seven qualities of an awakened mind:

  • mindfulness
  • self-reflection
  • energy
  • joy
  • tranquility
  • clear awareness
  • equanimity.

Where do we already experience them in our lives and how can we cultivate them...

Sucharita was ordained on October 7, 2001 by Sanghadevi at Il Convento in Italy. Her yidam was Vajrasattva.

Dharmabyte: Knowing as Lived Experience

From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 5 Mar, 2018 - 17:47

In this FBA Dharmabyte, Parami gives us “ ‘Knowing’ as a Lived Experience” from the talk “Living In The Greater Mandala”. A bodhisattva is a being intent upon awakening for the sake of all beings. Most of us, most of the time, are not as awake as we could be. We create suffering by trying to fit reality into our picture of how we think things should be - the bodhisattva helps us see how unhelpful...
