The latest Newsbyte from Clear Vision follows a visit to the new Buddhist Centre in Colchester. Chair Amalaketu’s vision was “if we build it, they will come” and already there are signs of their Sangha flourishing. Amalaketu chats to Clear Vision in November 2017 about the process and hard work involved in renovating a quite rundown premises, formerly a doctor’s surgery - including ensuring that the Centre is as environmentally sustainable as possible, with quality insulation, low energy lighting and solar panels on...
It was my first visit to the United States. In previous years I had made several long-distance flights, but this was the first time I had crossed the Atlantic. The reason for my journey was that I had been invited by the Philosophy Department of Berkeley College, a residential college at Yale University, to give a series of lectures on Buddhist Philosophy. Although I had no academic qualifications, I had been invited...
This Sunday we continue with our series, Into the Spring: Toward New Life in the Mind. Dh Candradasa will lead meditation and introduce the third of the seven factors of an awakened mind –– Energy and Effort. Join us for discussion about the type of skillful effort that the great Buddhist poet Shantideva described as ‘energy used in the pursuit of good.’
You can enjoy this program either as part of the series or as a stand-alone Dharma...
Susiddhi has been living in a care home in Sheffield since November 2016 following a diagnosis of Alzheimers and a relapse of his myeloma blood cancer (which he was first treated for in 2011).
He has been well cared for by the staff who are very fond of him. Although he likes his own company, Susiddhi has enjoyed regular visits from both myself and Advayacitta (who has been reading Dharma to Susiddhi).
Pundarikini, who is 76 years of age and lives in Auckland, New Zealand, was ordained in November 1993 at Dhanakosa Retreat Centre in Scotland by Ratnasuri and myself. Sadly due to a serious breach of the second precept we found it necessary to suspend her from the Order at the end of 2016. Several Dharmacharinis in New Zealand who knew her formed a kula to support her through the period of suspension, meeting with her...
In November 2017 Clear Vision went to visit the new Colchester Buddhist Centre to hear from the Chair, Amalaketu, about the acquiring of the building, the renovation, and how Triratna is flourishing there.
Bhante has asked me to inform you that he has received and accepted the resignation of Dharmacharini Punyasri from Auckland, New Zealand. Punyasri was ordained by Bhante in 1987. She sent a very full letter to Bhante which was just for him but has asked that the following letter be made available to the Order more generally. We wish her well.
With metta, Parami

Dear Dharma Sisters and Brothers,
I have just written a letter of resignation to Bhante and have...
The first in an occasional series this year of unreleased archive episodes from Buddhist Voices. Here’s Lokeshvara, one of our two International Order Conveners in Triratna, talking in 2015 at the end of his voyage around the world achieved in exactly 80 days. No hot-air balloons or steam trains or packet ships, alas, just lots of economy flights and time zone surfing!
What we do hear coming through is why it’s worth such an effort. Lokeshvara gives a great impressionistic sense of...
