I en serie om Buddhas tidigaste lärjungar berättar Achaladaya om Ananda, som var Buddhas kusin och följeslagare de sista 25 åren av Buddhas liv. Achaladaya berättar om varför han fastnat för Ananda och hur han, som var så vänlig och mänsklig, fångat honom rentav mer än Buddha. Han berättar också om Anandas vänlighet, hur omtyckt han var, samt hur han var favorit bland de kvinnliga lärjungarna (han var instrumentell för att kvinnor skulle bli ordinerade). Han berättar om hur en målning på Buddha och Ananda, av Amitajyoti, blivit en inspiration för honom. Achaladaya leder också en metta-bhavana, kanske mer likt hur man gjorde det på Buddhas tid. After all matters were duly and appropriately resolved, the Public Preceptors’ Kula, with the approval of the College President, have welcomed him back into the Order.

You are probably aware that Aryajaya formally put down her responsibility as International Order Convenor (IOC) at the end of January 2025, during the International Convention in Bodhgaya.

Back in April 2024, we launched a process to find and appoint her successor, and one year later Satyalila was appointed.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dhammachari Padmamitra on 15th September 2025. Born on 16th June 1947, he dedicated his life to the Dhamma and passed away peacefully at 6:30am at his home in Nanded, Maharashtra, India.

Padmamitra was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order on 14th October 2018 by Private Preceptor Jnanadhavaja and Public Preceptor Yashosagar. He remained deeply committed to the path of wisdom and compassion throughout...
