Inequality From a Dharmic Perspective

From Birmingham Buddhist Centre on Fri, 3 Jul, 2015 - 01:00
Vaddhaka has a clear and thorough approach which shines through this talk on wealth inequality. He explains the harm done to society, including the wealthy, through the perpetuation of inequality. Weaving in references to the teachings on inequality from the Pali Canon and examples from the time of the Buddha, he concludes with some pointers about how Buddhists can respond to the issues he raises.

From Buddhist Action Month 2015 on Thu, 2 Jul, 2015 - 21:48

Here we are down in Dawlish, folks from Exeter Triratna group along with other Exeter Buddhist groups picking the beach clean at Dawlish Warren, and logging each piece of human-made flotsam and jetsam for Beach Care’s survey of what’s moving around with the ocean. Plastics mainly - not good for wildlife beings… Some of us meditated by the ocean too - such a good way to connect

my new adventure

From Akashavana on Wed, 1 Jul, 2015 - 20:56

Two months so far, into my new adventure at Akashavana, and I am still waking to blue skies with that holiday feeling! Even though there is a lot of satisfyingly hard work and weekly routines, doing it in these conditions help to make it feel seamlessly part of just how things are here, just what is needed to live here and run the retreat centre. At any time you can just raise your eyes to the stunning vista of mountains...
