Dayapakshini - The First Precept

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Sun, 11 Oct, 2015 - 01:00
This is the second in a series of talks exploring the Precepts. Dayapakshini explores the relevance of the First Precept to our lives with extracts from the Abhisanda sutta, poetry, and a contribution from Inge, another Sangha Member, about an event that happened on the way to the centre. Dayapakshini also asks us to consider the effects on ourselves and others of unkind and kind actions and there is a general Sangha discussion. This talk was given at the Croydon Buddhist Centre in September 2015 as part of the regular Sangha Morning Class.

The Secret of Effective Collaboration from the Ecodharma Centre/Guyhapati

From Compassion In Action on Sun, 4 Oct, 2015 - 20:39

I am reposting an interesting excerpt which Christine from the Sheffield Buddhist Centre posted earlier today - Guyhapati from the Ecodharma Centre speaking:

The work I have been doing in recent years around sustainable activism and burnout has brought me into close contact with hundreds of activists across Europe. For many right now it’s easy to feel despondent, seeing ahead of them a long uphill struggle, amidst a political climate where their values of ecological and social justice are so marginalized.
