We’ve outgrown our building.  Right now we have waiting lists for most of our retreats and more would come if we could host them.  We also need space for a bigger team to support the retreats. 

We want a bigger retreat centre so that we can run retreats for at least 60 people and house a community of 12.

Atulyamitra gives a very personal talk about her experiences of being on the 2018 Akashavana ordination retreat, on which she was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order.

Recently someone asked me whether it is true that Triratna is unique in the Buddhist world in ordaining women and men equally, as we often say. Here is my reply, which does not claim to be definitive.

“In bhikkhuni (female) ordination (Theravada and Mahayana) women have to be ordained by women and then also by men, whereas bhikkhus (men) are ordained only by men. ie there is a double ordination for women but not for men.
