Ancient Royal Orchard newly founded in east London, UK

By Munisha on Thu, 16 Oct, 2014 - 00:18Uddiyana was an ancient land famous for rich, fertile plains, soaring mountains and an abundance of natural environment and culture. Sounds a long way from the streets of Leytonstone, east London, UK? A long-established Triratna men’s community there has just adopted “Uddiyana” (Royal Orchard) as its new name.

Ratnasuri Departs from Taraloka after 28 years

By saddhanandi on Wed, 16 Apr, 2014 - 14:29Saddhanandi: Here I am, back at Taraloka after a two-week absence: visiting family, attending a two-day meeting on mindfulness at Adhisthana, and attending a meditation retreat at Rivendell. All these events were enjoyable and productive, but throughout I was very conscious of the fact that whilst I was away Ratnasuri was leaving Taraloka and beginning a new life in Wrexham – living alone for almost the first time in her 91 years.

Ratnasuri first moved to Taraloka in 1985...

We are a well established, open community of five Order members...

A Celebration of Community

By viriyalila on Sat, 24 Nov, 2012 - 22:58Join us for a Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 28th, 7 - 9 pm

The full moon in November marks what is known as Sangha day on the Buddhist calendar. This is a time to rejoice in collective practice, and to remember the great spiritual heroes of the past.

The evening will include meditation, some readings regarding the early disciples of the Buddha, and a puja (devotional ritual).
