We are delighted to announce that Angela Riley from Melbourne, Australia was publicly ordained at the Melbourne Buddhist Centre on Sunday 12th March, 2023. 

She becomes Pasannā. 

The a has the short vowel sound as in ‘cut’. The ā as in ‘father’. Emphasis on the second syllable.

Name meaning: She who is happy, bright, clear, virtuous and devoted.  

Registered spelling: Pasanna
Public Preceptor: Maitripala
Private Preceptor: Chittaprabha

Forthcoming Ordination at Suryavana

Dear Friends, 

Carles de Gispert of Barcelona will be privately ordained by Dharmachari Amalamati on Wednesday 22nd March 2023, and two days later at 3pm Spanish time, on the 24th March, will be publicly ordained by Dharmachari Yashodeva. 

Both ordination ceremonies will be taking place at Suryavana Retreat Centre near Valencia, Spain, during a Going For Refuge retreat.

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of Dhammachari Sashiprabha on February 21st, 2023, at the age of 70.

She had moved to Pen (Kokan) with her family about a year and a half ago.

She came into contact with Triratna in Jalana and was a part of the Jalana Sangha for many years.
