Being with the Buddha Through Wisdom

This talk begins by reviewing the Wisdom as the third stage of the Threefold Path. The Buddhas teachings on Wisdom are then explored in more depth using classic verses from the Dhammapada, primarily looking at verses 277-279 on the three Lakshanas, the three marks of conditioned existence.

This talk is the fourth of four talks given during the Being with the Buddha retreat and as such it explores how to cultivate an attitude of Being with the Buddha through contemplating His teachings and deepening Wisdom.

Sangharakshita has recently re-emphasised Shakyamuni Buddha as the central focus of our devotion and practice, as it is through him we know of Enlightenment. This talk, given on the first day of a retreat, explores how to cultivate an attitude of Being with the Buddha as our teacher and guide. The Dhammapada is then introduced as a key Buddhist text and the first two verses are explored highlighting the centrality of mind in Buddhism.
