One of the loveliest bits of any Order Convention is the ritual to welcome new members of the Order from around the world, ordained since the last convention (conventions happen every three years). The Path of Wisdom this Sunday

Join us at the Portsmouth Buddhist Center this Sunday, August 21, 10AM - 12PM, as we continue our exploration of the Threefold Path, or Three Trainings – ethics, meditation and wisdom.  Following a period of meditation, Rijupatha will lead our discussion of Wisdom and its role in the spiritual life.  All are welcome, including newcomers to meditation and Buddhism.

Offered by donation.  $10-5 suggested.

Our friend Dhivan tells us:

“Oṃ Bodhicittam Utpādayāmi

This means ‘oṃ! I generate (utpādayāmi) the bodhicitta’.”

Our friend Dhivan, an excellent Pali and Sanskrit scholar, says (see comment below):

“Oṃ Bodhicittam Utpādayāmi

This means ‘oṃ! I generate (utpādayāmi) the bodhicitta’.”

The ‘Bodhichitta’ is sometimes rendered as the ‘will to Enlightenment’ or the ‘heart-mind of Enlightenment’ - signifying the complete dedication of our efforts to cultivate wisdom and compassion, in line...

Each time he’s explored the ways Triratna might change, and this latest update in his thinking looks forward again as he revisits old issues, discusses new ones, and frames them all in the context of a vision of a new society founded on principles of the Dharma.

Muditasri - Lead-through of the Kalyanamitra Yoga

Sangharakshita has said he would like all Order members to be familiar with the Mula Yogas. As part of the 2016 Combined Convention, Muditasri leads us through the new, simplified version of the practice as recommended by Bhante.
