We are recruiting a lead designer who will report directly to our Creative Director, and work in close collaboration with our development and operational leads. At Virya Group our designers are involved in all aspects of the creative process including strategy, UX, brand evolution, prototyping, and visual design.

This is an ideal position for a designer who is comfortable with a flexible work environment and is capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and remotely. You’ll care about the people you work with (we’re pretty much like a family at Virya Group) and help them to grow through mentoring, support and in-house training.

  • Website redesign - We have many different sites that need a redesign to help bring more uniformity to all our products.
  • Email / Social Media promotional material - Each week we would need multiple promotional resources to support our marketing campaigns - both within our company and for our clients
  • Event design - promotional gadgets, leaflets and supporting materials to promote our company and our products.
  • Improve our brand - proactively looking for opportunities to improve both the look and the effectiveness of our marketing materials.

We’re a small team so you’ll often get your hands dirty in all areas. Your everyday tasks might include:

  • Outlining vision statements
  • Defining key emotional drivers
  • Customer journey mapping
  • Paper prototyping
  • Concept sketching, idea generation and presenting to the team and clients
  • Storyboarding and storytelling
  • Creating wireframes, stunning visual designs, beautiful icons and elegant layouts for devices, big and small
  • Creating production assets
  • Researching and experimenting with technologies that improve the user experience
  • Creating forward-thinking concepts for future interfaces and OSes
  • Estimating time required for tasks
  • Giving and receiving feedback with other designers
  • Iterating designs and layouts following discussions with clients and developers
  • Pushing the boundaries of usable interfaces across a range of device types and form factors
  • Giving talks (internally and externally) on interface design, concepts and visual techniques
