Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different: enjoying the pleasant without holding on to it when it changes (which it will): being with the unpleasant, without feeling it will always be this way (which it won't)

Buddhist teaching has impermanence at it's heart. Here in the mundane world there is nothing fixed or enduring. So the more we get in touch with the flow, the coming and going of life the freer we become.
