This week’s free eBook and June’s discounted paperbacks

Hi, it's Helen here. This week I'm off furlough and back at work so that Dhammamegha can take a well-earned break.

Since it’s a Monday and the first of the month, we have two resources to announce today – the weekly free eBook and new paperbacks on sale!

This week in Free the Dharma we’re offering a gem of a title in conjunction with Buddhist Action Month (BAM!). The theme for BAM! this year is ‘For the Earth’. The eBook edition of Akuppa’s Saving the Earth will be available free until 15 June. You can download it here.

Lockdown rules are cautiously opening up for some of us. So perhaps there’s not quite so much staying at home involved in this month’s Stay at Home Sale. We’ve chosen a range of books to offer resources and inspiration in this transition time.

To continue the ‘For the Earth’ theme of Buddhist Action Month, we’ve got Bodhipaksa’s Vegetarianism: A Buddhist View. It explores what we eat in terms of the first three precepts. (Now £5.25)

This next book is a classic; an outline of the path of Buddhist practice and liberation: Sangharakshita’s The Buddha’s Noble Eightfold Path. (Now £7.50)

Paramabandhu and Jed Shamel’s Mindful Emotion: A Short Course in Kindness is next. This offers a highly practical course in compassion. It is a skilled guide to undoing pervasive knots of self-hatred and judgement with kindness and connection. (Now £8.99)

Even though it might be possible for some Buddhist centres to open over the coming months, only small numbers of us will be able to gather in our shrine room spaces. So this month we’re offering a discount on a central resource for the Triratna community, the Puja Book. The softback Puja Book is now £7.50, and the hardback Puja Book is now £9.75.

And lastly, for the pure delight of it, we’re offering Dipa Ma: The Life and Legacy of a Buddhist Master by Amy Schmidt. (Now £7.50)

We’re still offering free postage on all orders. And if you sign up for a free account here, you get an extra 10% off. There’s never been a better time to read!
