Here in Nagpur, we celebrated the mass conversion of Babasaheb Ambedkar to Buddhism. People visits here from very remote areas and various states of India to celebrate this event; even out of India people like to attend this event.
We celebrate this great day by providing 'free food'' (Bhojandana) to maximum visitors who comes from out of Nagpur. Many organization provide the food on the first day of celebration, Our observation is that people find difficult to get food on next day and due to poverty they cann't purchase. They have to go back without food which is dangerous for them sometimes so we decided to provide food on next day when people back to their village. We have provided the food at Dikshabhoomi and generally to Railway Station where we find needy people easily.
This year 2017 our team reached with food about 3000-3500 people. Our team members and local people generously extended their hands of financial help and physical contribution. Thanks to all of them ! Specially Dhammamitra Rajan took hard efforts to happen this, so special thanks to him. Our team is very happy to see the happy faces of the people after getting food ! Thanks once again to all who contributed in this event.
