Viriyalila writes from Free Buddhist Audio with news that the three central talks from the recent Triratna International Women’s Convention are now available on-line. She says:
“The theme for the Convention was the whole of the Tirantavandana, the Three Jewels – The Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
Launching the convention, Parami, our International Order Convener, invited us to reflect on our experience of the Sangha Vandana. She offers us an inspiring window into the practice of Sangha: gathering together in harmonious relationship with one another in a way that keeps third jewel shining.
Through effective story telling from the life of the Buddha and the sharing of tales from her personal experience, Vajratara beautifully shares her unwavering love of the Dharma Vandana. ‘Longing to find a place of shelter only to realize there is nothing in this world that is solid at base, discovering in the end that the refuge has to be the Dharma itself.’
And in the third and final talk, Nagasuri, a self-proclaimed ‘doctrine follower,’ challenges herself to speak on the basis of her faith in the talk on the Buddha Vandana, and does so with stunning eloquence. Personal, full of devotion, she shares over 30 years of her contact with the Buddha and explains how the grace of the Buddha’s blessings has opened her heart time and time again.
