Work opportunity at Windhorse Publications

Our colleague Helen is off to get ordained on the three-month retreat this year, and we’re looking for someone to cover some of her work while she’s away.

Could you be the right person for the job of Customer Services, Sales and Marketing Assistant? We are looking for someone from the week of 3rd April to mid July, i.e. just over three months at 2 or 2.5 days per week spread out over the week.

The work involves:

  1. Doing all the customer services for Windhorse Publications – helping people who have bought our books, liaising with the distributors and Amazon, answering questions, and managing two of our inboxes.
  2. Working on our website updating product pages, blogs and other elements.
  3. Working with online book records data, liaising with our book distributors, and working with Walter and Dhammamegha on other sales and marketing tasks.
  4. There are detailed instructions on all these areas of work available for the person who takes the job.

About you: To do the job well you will need to be able to prioritise tasks, have good attention to detail, and have good interpersonal skills in order to work with people with patience and kindness. You will need to have very good written English for the customer services and liaison part of the job. You’ll need to have some basic skills and experience with websites and spreadsheets, and familiarity with WordPress and WooCommerce would be an advantage.

We’re looking for someone with an interest in being part of a Buddhist team, with some familiarity with Triratna, and some awareness of the books we publish would be ideal. We all work from home with regular Wednesday morning team meetings online.

Pay: The salary for this part-time position will be £20K per year, pro rata. Or we can negotiate an hourly rate if you prefer to work freelance.

Next steps: To apply or if you have any questions, please contact Dhammamegha at dhammamegha@windhorsepublications.com. For applications, please send a brief CV and a covering letter telling us about your skills, experience and why you want to apply for the role.  Applications close at 00:00 UK time on the 2nd of February
